What people say about VBN...
"This is groundbreaking stuff. Administrating grant applications is an extraordinarily complex process, particularly where the funds available run into millions of pounds. This unique system enables a simple online registration, eligibility checking and application process enabling us to stay on top of thousands of applications and track their progress through the system. We are also accountable to the EU and the system will allow us to report to them effectively and to track where funds are at any point in time. We will also be able to demonstrate a huge return on investment by massively reducing our administration costs. "
Steve Cargill, Project Officer, Lincolnshire Broadband Team on the Grant Administration System developed by VBN |

Cambridge-based Virtual Business Network (VBN), the UK's leading application service provider for innovation clusters, has won a coveted place in Deloitte and Touche's Technology Fast 50 Awards. Placed at number 32 on the list of the Eastern Regions fastest growing technology companies, VBN is rubbing shoulders with well-known established local
companies such as Acambis, Aveva and Cambridge Silicon Radio.
In the last financial year VBN has seen substantial expansion gaining 37 new clients across the world and recording a growth of 95% year on year turning over in the region of £1 million this year. The company's experience lies in providing the link between people and ideas by building and developing the core software needed to create business and innovation community websites.
Simon Elliott, CTO of VBN said of the result: 'We are delighted to be listed in the fast 50, particularly as we are up there with so many prestigious and well-established firms.
One of the key reasons behind our success has been the enormous growth in awareness of the need for business people to network with others to be successful. This is especially true where innovation, entrepreneurship and growth are involved. Online communities and websites can facilitate this urge in a way that was not previously possible.'
Now entering its sixth year here in the UK, The Deloitte and Touche Fast 50 Awards are unique in championing the cause of growing technology companies. The ranking is based on percentage growth in turnover from 2000 to 2002 (a three year period).
As a Fast 50 winner VBN will also be eligible to enter Deloitte and Touche's search for Europe's top 500, a competition to find the fastest growing public and private technology companies across Europe |
