ITRI is a global organisation with over 70 years experience in tin. ITRI works with the tin industry to achieve the following objectives:

• Research, develop, and commercialise technologies which have the potential to establish new markets for tin.
• Support existing and emerging tin uses.
• Develop global networks to expand activity in tin research.
• Improve and communicate the quality and availability of tin data and statistics.
• Implement strategies to deal with the challenges of global legislation and to position tin as an environmentally acceptable and sustainable metal.

ITRI is the only organisation dedicated to supporting the tin industry and expanding tin use. It is largely funded by the major tin producers and smelters. A primary goal is to research and develop innovative, competitive and sustainable tin based technologies. ITRI provides a unique link between tin producers and tin consumers and over many decades has built up global networks in all of the major tin using markets.

Soldertec Global: The lead-free testhouse
Soldertec was launched in 1999 as the world's first lead-free soldering technology centre. It has grown to become a leading lead-free electronics test house, specialising in RoHS compliance.

Tinplate
Promoting and supporting the tinplate industry The Tinplate Group is a unique membership forum for the world's major tinplate producers and their suppliers, including steel companies, electrolyte suppliers, tinplate producers, can makers, lacquer manufacturers, and can fillers.

Tin technology
Tin Technology is a wholely owned subsidiary of ITRI. It hosts membership-based groups in the key consumption areas of tin, namely electronics soldering and steel packaging.

Fireproof
Fireproof is a laboratory service equipped with a comprehensive range of small-scale fire tests, each complying to national and international standard test methods.

Surfacetec
Surfacetec offers specialist testing and is an independent technical support service for the coatings sector.
