What people say about VBN...
"This is groundbreaking stuff. Administrating grant applications is an extraordinarily complex process, particularly where the funds available run into millions of pounds. This unique system enables a simple online registration, eligibility checking and application process enabling us to stay on top of thousands of applications and track their progress through the system.

We are also accountable to the EU and the system will allow us to report to them effectively and to track where funds are at any point in time. We will also be able to demonstrate a huge return on investment by massively reducing our administration costs. "

Steve Cargill, Project Officer, Lincolnshire Broadband Team on the Grant Administration System developed by VBN

VBN Delivers Online Network for GI Community
Release date: 05 Jul 2005
VBN, Europe's leader in the provision of online business networks has built a portal for the Association for Geographic Information (AGI). The interface, launched at the beginning of June, has been designed to facilitate two way communication, providing unparalleled opportunities for interaction between individuals and organisations in the GI community.

Representing the interests of the geographical information industry, the AGI is a member organisation providing many face-to-face networking opportunities through seminars, workshops, conferences and exhibitions. In a move to enhance its communications the organisation wanted to provide an online network with 24 hour access.

VBN designed a unique web solution with a sophisticated content management system enabling membership management and participation. The features of the network will help both the AGI and its members to promote awareness of best practice, keep up-to-date with industry developments, rapidly disseminate relevant information and news, and participate in knowledge exchange and stimulate debate.

The site will also help the AGI to generate revenue and deliver a valuable online e-commerce service to members by selling goods and services such as membership and events programmes online.

Robert Mann, Director of AGI commented: 'The aim of the new network is to maximise the use of geographical information for the benefit of the citizen, good governance and commerce.'

Mann continued: 'We chose to work with VBN due to its unrivalled 'in-house' knowledge and experience in the planning, building and ongoing development of successful participative virtual communities.'

Sean Newell, CEO of VBN added: 'It was great to work alongside the AGI to create a web presence that will significantly enhance its membership offering. The portal will act as a focal point for the organisations 1,400 members, facilitating a shared communication tool for those both in the UK and overseas.

VBN has been providing online networks since 2000 and has built over 100 in the UK for clients that include the DTI, YMCA and Cambridge Network.
