About Sean Newell

Sean's entrepreneurial streak was clearly evident from a young age when together with four friends in 1990, he set up a new magazine to cover the alternative comedy circuit in London.

His entrepreneurial spirit may be in part, owed to an inherited gene as father Dick Newell, founded Cambridge Interactive Systems which was sold to Computervision in 1983 and also Smallworld which was sold to General Electric (GE) in 2000.

Sean's uncle Martin Newell invented Postscript and is now a Fellow of Adobe. Martin's early work in 3d computer graphics paved the way for modern computer graphics so much so that he was 'honoured' by the film Toy Story; one of his first pieces of 3d graphics was his teapot, which was used in the film.
