Ten Sails Partners With GeoWise

vbn adds mapping element to netsphere range

Cambridge-based Ten Sails, location business builders, today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with GeoWise, an award winning developer of innovative mapping technology for use on the web. Ten Sails will be integrating a number of GeoWise products including 'InstantAtlas' into the product offerings of some of its portfolio businesses.

John Maslen of GeoWise commented on the partnership: 'This is a major step forward in the development of the company. The Ten Sails team have demonstrated they have the specialist experience of the GI technology world and the enthusiasm to help us build GeoWise into a major international player. We will be working closely with them and their partner companies across the world on a range of exciting developments.'

One of the first of Ten Sails companies to benefit from this partnership is vbn, the leading provider of online business networks. They have added GeoWise's mapping technology to their 'Netsphere' range which was launched on the GeoWise stand at the Association for Geographic Information (AGI) this month. The netsphere is an application utility designed to build professional online networks.

Netsphere contains a set of tools that manage content, membership, participation, mapping and e-commerce in one easy to use environmnent.
Richard Green, CEO of Ten Sails said: 'We are excited at the opportunity to combine the talents of networking of VBN and location of Geowise to offer a unique solution in the market place. netsphere's new spatial capability allows our customers to publish information that can be retrieved not only via traditional keyword searches, but also filtered by location, with the results being displayed graphically on a map.'
